While printed books are still #1 when it comes to the preferred method of getting information, eBooks have slowly been turning the pages in the online world.
So, what is an eBook? It’s nothing more than an electronic document (an MS Word file) turned into digital form (a PDF). This allows the document to be read by anyone, anywhere, on a variety of devises (e.g., desktop PC, laptop, iPhone, Blackberry, iPad, etc.) using a program called Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Most eBooks can be made to look just like a printed book. They include a cover, table of contents, copyright page, chapters, formatting, images, index, etc. They can be given away or sold – just as a traditional printed book.
One of the most popular ways to create eBooks is by transcribing a teleseminar, webinar, or enhancing a presentation that has both audio and, for example, PowerPoint slides. Bring it all together and you have yourself a book!
